love covers

Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

Most important. . . love.
Love is THE most important thing.
Show love.
Love deeply.
Love covers who's sins?
Love covers MY sins?
Love covers OTHER people's sins?
Isn't it funny that it doesn't say, "Confession covers a multitude of sins," or "Repentance covers a multitude of sins," or "Asking for forgiveness covers a multitude of sins"? It says that LOVE covers a multitude of sins. Hmm.

What is important is faith expressing itself in love. Galations 5:6

What if we really believed that expressing love was the most important thing?
If we love, can it cover sin?
Can God heal sin in others, through our love?
Can our love for our neighbors make them right with God?
Can we be healing in someone's life by loving?
Can our love begin to reconcile another human to his creator?
What if Jesus meant it when he said the most important thing was to love.
What if love does more than we thought it could?
What if love is the answer to everything?
Why don't we give it away more willingly?
My love can help heal another human and bring them into harmony with God.
Jesus was right when he said we could do it. When he had faith in us.
We just try to complicate love and make all sorts of other rules to go with it.
I have the power to heal.
I have the power to bring another human into harmony with God (heal them).
It's almost too much for me to comprehend.
Wow.
I HAVE been given the gift of healing. . . . it's love.

To quote a movie on love:
Love is a many splendored thing, Love lifts us up where we belong, All you need is Love
Gina, you are preaching my mantra! I truly believe this, that love overcomes all. Jesus was all about love. When Christians choose to condemn others for their sins or different beliefs, they are ultimately saying they know more than Jesus. WRONG! If we are followers of Christ, showing love to all others above all else is walking in His path. By showing love to others, we are allowing others to see Jesus in us. That is more powerful than condemnation any day.

Crissi, for you and me, I know that some Christians are very difficult to love. But they HAVE to be included in "love your neighbor". It's very hard to love others who are not showing love themselves, especially when they are condemning and judging, but our love cannot be selective. Christians who don't know how to love others need to be loved as much as anyone else. It's so easy for me to forget that. As soon as I get up on my soap box about it I realize that I'm condemning and judging also.
